I’m Tahmina. I’m from Bangladesh and married to a wonderful man from Barbados and have two adult children. Our home is a blend of different cultures, languages and flavors. I spent a lot of my life living in different places and meeting all kinds of people. One of the best ways I’ve found to connect with people is through food. Whether it was my children and their friends hanging out around the house or friends just dropping by, there seems to be a party always centered around the kitchen. I’m convinced that most of the world’s problems would be solved if people could have meaningful discussions over some delicious food and drinks. That’s how God relates to us! He sets a table for us and invites us to join him. An abundant table is a great equalizer. I am also a Registered Dietitian, among other things, and food is always a part of my life. In my daily life, eating and cooking healthy and delicious foods are important but equally important is finding moderation and balance. I try to include all the different cultural and traditional foods that I know with newer, more healthy options as well. I firmly believe that it’s absolutely okay to eat a piece of double chocolate rum cake and enjoy every bite as long as it’s not a daily indulgence!
I hope you’ll join me around my kitchen, that’s where everyone ends up anyway.
